Livestream: First Conductors' Academy with Paavo Järvi
The first Conductors' Academy under the musical direction of Paavo Järvi took place from 9 to 12 May 2021. Six young conductors spent four days with Paavo Järvi, the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich and its management.
The four course blocks and the closing concert have been broadcasted live and can be re-watched below.
After the closing concert, the audience had the opportunity to vote for the audience winner. See here who won the jury prize and who won the audience prize.
Music Director Paavo Järvi has selected six candidates from 150 applicants who will spend four days in May with him, the orchestra and the Management Team to further develop their technical skills.
Finally, in the closing concert, they demonstrate what they have learned from Paavo Järvi. The excitement is not over: the conducting courses and the closing concert are broadcast simultaneously on the social media channels and website of the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich.
And in the end, it is the whole wide world that chooses the winner of the Academy. Because you, dear audience, can vote directly after the closing concert on which young conductor has convinced you the most.
