Thomas Guggeis takes over for Philippe Jordan
Unfortunately, Philippe Jordan will not be able to conduct the concerts on 10 and 11 December for health reasons. Thomas Guggeis will take over in his place.
The 32-year-old German conductor and pianist Thomas Guggeis began his career as an assistant to Daniel Barenboim. He was later Kapellmeister in Stuttgart and Staatskapellmeister in Berlin. He has appeared as a guest conductor in numerous major concert halls, from the New York Met to La Scala in Milan, and has also worked with the Berlin and Vienna Philharmonic Orchestras, the Cleveland Orchestra and the London Philharmonic Orchestra. He has been General Music Director of Oper Frankfurt since 2023. He is now introducing himself to Zurich audiences for the first time.
The programme with works by Ravel and Liszt remains unchanged and tickets remain valid.
Thank you for your understanding.
