Between popcorn and cinema concert
On 26 April 2024, Lucas & Arthur Jussen set off a veritable musical firework display at the Tonhalle Zurich.
The pianist duo, outwardly like twins, impressed with their unique flair and impressive skills on and off stage. Together with the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, conducted by Jan Willem de Vriend, they took us on a musical journey through Mozart's Concerto in E flat major for two pianos. Their playing was synchronised, but they had different musical nuances: Arthur with powerful virtuosity and Lucas with subtle lightness. The NZZ also wrote: "Artistically, the young Dutchmen [...] are anything but interchangeable, as their virtuoso guest performance with the Tonhalle Orchestra underlines."
Jan Willem de Vriend conducted the orchestra with an impressive lightness of touch, which was always reminiscent of cheerful dancing and created a beautiful atmosphere. While the strings vied playfully with the pianists for supremacy, the pianists presented a wild ride across the keys in the encore "Strausseinander" by Igor Roma.
The subsequent klubZ experience was full of both new and long-standing klubZ members. There was laughter, exciting conversation and the Jussen brothers mingled with us - what an unforgettable experience!
Once again, a big thank you to the Jussen brothers and especially to our members for this successful evening. The next klubZ experience is already our end-of-season party... So look forward to the highlight in the Rimini Bar!
