Between popcorn and cinema concert
What a successful klubZ experience! First the silent film with live music, then the musicians took to the stage for a colourful finale with the klubZ.
The two-hour film "The White Hell of Piz Palü" had everything you would expect from a silent film from 1930: Drama between a pair of lovers, impressive nature shots and adventurous students who (spoiler alert!) unfortunately get killed... The NZZ also wrote: "More than once, this immediacy between music and action leaves the (...) audience in awe".
Frank Strobel, who has been conducting the film symphony for years, was not only on the podium, but also joined our colourful klubZ experience afterwards. With the many musicians and our klubZ members, the Kleine Tonhalle was well filled. People laughed, drank and snacked until shortly before midnight.
We are very happy to be able to bring our orchestra closer to klubZ and are excited about our film symphony series – which will next take place at the end of June for "Das Wunder von Bern".
But before that, we're meeting Lucas and Arthur Jussen to enjoy Mozart's Concerto in E flat major for two pianos and orchestra!
Are you already a member of klubZ?
We regularly organise klubZ experiences exclusively for members around concerts of the Tonhalle Society Zurich. We get a glimpse behind the scenes of the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, meet artists or learn about the background to the concert and much more over an aperitif. Find out more about klubZ here.
