5. Symphony by Gustav Mahler on CD and vinyl

"For me, Mahler summarises the entire history of music that came before him," says Paavo Järvi. "After a performance of Mahler's music, I always have the feeling that there could be another step forward, that another level could be explored - this feeling has been with me for 15 years. And now, with the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, I have musicians at my side who can really take that step."

At the beginning of February 2024, Music Director Paavo Järvi and the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich launched the Mahler cycle with two sold-out performances of the Symphony No. 5 in the Grosser Tonhalle. These concerts were recorded and are now being released not only on CD by Alpha Classics. For lovers of black lacquer, this symphony is also being released on LP.
