Jonathan Nott takes over for Franz Welser-Möst

Unfortunately, Franz Welser-Möst will not be able to conduct the concerts on 18, 19 and 20 June for health reasons.

Jonathan Nott will take his place as conductor on Wed 18 and Fri 20 June. The programme with Olivier Messiaen's "Sept haïkaï" and Mahler's "Lied von der Erde" remains unchanged. Unfortunately, the concert on Thu 19 June has to be cancelled as he has a commitment on that day that cannot be postponed.

The British conductor Jonathan Nott is chief conductor of the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande and music director of the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra. From 1997 to 2002, he was music director at Lucerne Theatre, where he also led the Paris-based Ensemble Intercontemporain, which specialises in contemporary music. He later enjoyed great success as chief conductor of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra. He last conducted the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich in 2012.

Thank you for your understanding.
