Bryce Dessner in Zürich
Our Creative Chair can be found in many different places.
The exhibition "Talking Bodies – Body Images in Posters" is currently on show at the Museum für Gestaltung. Bryce Dessner builds a bridge to his music in a discussion concert with curator Bettina Richter and our dramaturge Ulrike Thiele: What stereotypes does he see himself confronted with – as a rock star and in the classical music world? How does he confront them with his art? Two musicians from the ZHdK will play works by Dessner. The audience is invited to wander through the exhibition and take on new perspectives themselves; headphones and folding stools are available.
A dialogue between the arts will also take place in the Tonhalle itself: In the Literature and Music series, Bryce Dessner has chosen excerpts from Edouard Louis' bestseller "The End of Eddy" as a literary bracket for his works. In it, the French author recounts what it was like to grow up as a homosexual boy in the provinces.
Bryce Dessner can also be experienced in a public masterclass in conversation with composer Isabel Mundry and in dialogue with students. Admission to this event at the Zurich University of the Arts is free.
