"Anastasia Kobekina - Now or never!"

The four-part documentary film (2025) by Grete Liffers takes a differentiated look at the highs and lows of a young soloist's career. Cellist Anastasia Kobekina takes centre stage. The film team was present at her rehearsals in Zurich, among other places.

At the end of August 2023, the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich and Music Director Paavo Järvi prepared for a European tour in Zurich. The soloist was the Russian Anastasia Kobekina, who made her debut with us at the Beethovenfest in Bonn and at the Prague International Music Festival with Antonín Dvořák's Cello Concerto.

The film team led by director and author Grete Liffers accompanied Kobekina's stay in Zurich. The second episode of the documentary shows, among other things, how the cellist talks to Paavo Järvi in her soloist's room in the run-up to rehearsals and how she rehearses with the orchestra in the Grosser Tonhalle.
