Organ day for children
On Whit Monday, children can discover the Tonhalle organ. In concerts, on a course - and with 3D glasses.
An organ can thunder, sing and whistle. Thousands of pipes and wind tunnels can be discovered inside it. It is almost like a house with several floors and different rooms. On Organ Day for children, a varied programme invites you to explore the largest of all instruments and discover its secrets.
What does it take for an organ to sound? What changes when you press one stop button or another? And how can you play with your hands and feet at the same time? On a tour that you can visit before, after or independently of the concerts, you will learn interesting and curious facts and solve an organ puzzle at each stop. For example, you can explore the Tonhalle organ from the inside with 3D glasses, or listen to and see the greatest hits on the ornate organ jukebox. If you like, you can make an organ out of paper or make yourself comfortable in the organ cinema.
In addition, young and old can experience the Tonhalle organ in all its tonal diversity in two concerts. In these organ adventures, the audience joins presenter Cloé Salzgeber in searching for the missing music and solves the mystery of the mysterious bell melody. The young guests can also pull out the stops themselves while organist Daniela Timokhine plays the keys.
