"Does anyone in the world play Max Bruch's violin concerto better than Janine Jansen?" The reviewer of the "Luzerner Zeitung" once asked himself this question, and it was meant purely rhetorically: no, there is no one. Now the violinist is coming to the Tonhalle Zurich with this work. The setting is a work by this year's Creative Chair Thomas Adès on the one hand and Mendelssohn's "Scottish" on the other, which Paavo Järvi always likes to include in his programmes: "His music speaks to me. I never had to make any special effort, it speaks to me immediately."
