It's not as if there is a lack of good works for string quartet. Nevertheless, there are more and more ensembles that are supplementing the existing repertoire with their own arrangements. The vision string quartet from Berlin is one of them, which has made a name for itself above all by crossing boundaries in the direction of jazz and pop. The ensemble is "young, cool and brilliant", once hailed by a reviewer in Sydney, and the "Tagesspiegel" attested to its "kind of nonchalance that cannot be learnt". The four musicians demonstrate what is meant by this in their Zurich debut with a programme that takes a Grieg quartet as its starting point, but then leads into completely different stylistic realms.
