Kosmos Kammermusik: Brooklyn Rider

The New York string quartet Brooklyn Rider was praised in the Los Angeles Times as "one of the wonders of contemporary music". It not only plays existing works – such as Arnold Schönberg's op. 10 – but also creates its own, stylistically extremely diverse repertoire with commissions that extend far into jazz and rock realms. Many of these commissions relate to major contemporary issues, such as various political conflicts or global warming. Now they are bringing new pieces from their collection to Zurich. Soprano Ariadne Greif will also be there, singing "Chalk and Soot" by Brooklyn Rider violinist Colin Jacobsen.
