For his 80th birthday, conductor Christoph Eschenbach wanted concerts with all the orchestras of which he had once been principal conductor. Corona got in the way, but shortly after his 83rd birthday, he was able to return to the Grosse Tonhalle, which was his musical home from 1982 to 1985. Gautier Capuçon, who was still a toddler at the time - and is now one of the most sought-after cellists to play Elgar's concerto hit – will be with him.
