Instead of the planned programme of baroque works by Platti, Corrette and Couperin, the concert will be performed by the Kapelle Nogler. We are delighted that the ensemble has taken over at short notice.
You may recognise three of the four members of this folk music group: Violist Johannes Gürth, clarinettist Florian Walser and double bassist Peter Kosak normally play in the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich. Together with violinist Clarigna Küng, they now bring cosy music from old Engadine parlours to the Kleine Tonhalle, along with Grisons chorales and music by Engadine emigrants who found their way back to the mountain valley via Siena. Secrets from the Alpstein, the violinist's homeland, are just as much a part of the programme as "Wintersonne über dem Zürichsee" or "Malojawind". There will also be folk music references to the repertoire of the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich. So there is plenty to discover!
