You will hear very different programmes: In the first concert, mandolinist Avi Avital plays a Mediterranean-influenced concerto by Sicilian composer Giovanni Sollima under the direction of Alondra de la Parra. The second concert features Janine Jansen, one of the most expressive violinists of our time and a long-standing ally of our Music Director Paavo Järvi. In the third, our focus artist Sol Gabetta plays Martinů's rarely performed cello concerto, accompanied by Andrés Orozco-Estrada conducting two orchestral hits by Strauss and Tchaikovsky. And finally, there is film symphonic music with the live accompaniment of Pablo Berger's 2012 silent film "Blancanieves".
