Isabelle Faust plays Beethoven's Violin Concerto

Two like-minded people meet with the violinist Isabelle Faust and the conductor Philippe Herreweghe. Both of them are familiar with early music and are committed to historical performance practice. Isabelle Faust exchanges the steel for gut strings to do justice to a work.

Neither Philippe Herreweghe nor Isabelle Faust is concerned with the sheer brilliance of the interpretation. Rather, they want to penetrate to the core of the composition, give it shape. It is no coincidence that Claudio Abbado chose Isabelle Faust for his only recording of Beethoven's violin concerto.

In the second part of the concert, Robert Schumann's second symphony will be heard, in which he will pay tribute to the great master Beethoven.
