Hauschka becomes Jury President

Now the jury president of the eleventh International Film Music Competition has been chosen: it will be Volker Bertelmann, also known by his stage name Hauschka - he won the Oscar for best film music this year.

The eleventh edition of the International Film Music Competition in collaboration with the Zurich Film Festival will take place on 30 September. Volker Bertelmann aka Hauschka, whose music for Edward Berger's Im Westen nichts Neues has just won the Oscar for Best Film Score, will take on the Golden Eye for Best Film Score at the Tonhalle Zurich.

The enchantingly surreal French short film "Au revoir Jérome!" by Adam Sillard, Gabrielle Selnet and Chloé Farr will be shown on the screen, and the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich will play the film scores of the three finalists as world premieres. Applications for the competition are open from 3 April.
