"Boost" is the name of the orchestral work with which Swiss composer Dieter Ammann makes his debut as Creative Chair. The title is fitting for this energetic, yet extremely precise music. And it fits the entire opening of the season: the Georgian pianist and new Focus artist Khatia Buniatishvili will also show how much thrusting passion there is in her playing in Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1. And then Paavo Järvi will also conduct Scriabin's "Poème de l'extase": a sensual yet deeply reflective work inspired by a poem of his own. "The spirit / Inspired by the thirst for life / Soars into bold flight" are the first lines - the new season can take off!
