Pause Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Requiem d-Moll KV 626 (Fassung Süssmayr)
Hardly any other work has occupied the imagination of posterity as much as Mozart's unfinished Requiem. Numerous composers have attempted to reconstruct or rewrite the missing parts, and the work also plays a central role in Milos Forman's cult film "Amadeus". Paavo Järvi is now conducting this Requiem for the first time in Zurich. Before that, there is a work on the programme that also has a conspicuous, albeit intentional, blank space: In Stravinsky's "Palm Symphony" for choir and orchestra, there are neither violins nor violas; in addition to wind instruments, percussion instruments and two pianos, only low string instruments are used - which gives the work a very special sound.
