In 2021, Lisa Batiashvili set up a foundation with the aim of supporting young Georgian musicians. One of them is the now 26-year-old pianist Giorgi Gigashvili, who performed in our Série jeunes in 2022, made his debut with the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich the previous week - and can now also be heard in a chamber music programme with the violinist. The two have performed together several times before. This time they will play violin sonatas by Bartók and Franck as well as a homage by Georgian composer Josef Bardanashvili to his inspiration Giya Kancheli - in which the two composers' love of the tango cannot be ignored.
